Each Corner of the Chapel points to the relative "corners" of the great State of Nevada.
The intent of the design is to not only provide a panorama of our beautiful state, but to center the visitor in the midst of it all. While this Chapel will serve well as a meeting place for general services and worship of the creator of this beauty, it must also serve in providing a sanctuary of solitude during quiet prayers for a passing hero. This design respectfully addresses this balance. Many people to thank.
Mike Northan, Kit DeCarlo for all your help and long evenings A big thank you to Quality Tile and Marble for their generous donation that made this project possible. To A. Perry and St Marys Art Center for their kindness of utilizing their open space...

During the first shut down, I received the state project for the Veteran's Bluebird Chapel, this is at the Veteran Wellness Center in Reno.
Most of this year I have been working with distributors at half staff trying to get the materials here. It's been challenging with the pandemic. I'm building a 98 panel mural with a deadline in June. This piece represents the four directions of Nevada, with the entrance showing the bristlecone pine. I must say, living in and out of different hospitals and rehab centers with my parents for the last 15 years, I have never seen such amazing accommodations for vets and long care facilities as I see with the veterans wellness center here in Reno. Beautifully done and well deserved. |
